Wedding Card Bible Verses :-

Choosing an appropriate bible verse for a wedding card invitation or ceremony programme can be quite a challenge - the scriptures offer us so many possible options, and even when we feel we have found the right verse, there is then the question of which version of the bible to use! Since a wedding is primarily about celebrating the love and commitment that a couple have found together, then finding a scripture that is on one of these themes is probably a good place to start. This reference page contains short bible verses for wedding cards on the themes of love and the biblical origins of marriage. Two of the most famous bible quotes on marriage are from 1 Corinthians 13 ("love is patient, love is kind" etc.) and Ecclesiastes 4 ("A rope of three cords" etc) - the latter being a wonderful picture of how God being involved in marriage (the third cord) causes the whole partnership to be so much stronger in the face of lifes trials and difficulties.

Love is Patient, Love Is Kind - 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (NIV)

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

But now faith, hope, and love remain-these three. The greatest of these is love."

What God has joined together, let no man separate - Mark 10:5-9 (The Message)

Because of this, a man leaves father and mother, and in marriage he becomes one flesh with a woman—no longer two individuals, but forming a new unity. Because God created this organic union of the two sexes, no one should desecrate his art by cutting them apart."
